Dr. Stephen Pullen

Clinical Optometrist


Dr. Stephen Pullen is the owner of Pullen Eye Care and calls Jacksonville his home. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama and his Doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Pullen was awarded the top honor of VSP outstanding clinician award as a 3rd year clinical student while at Southern College. Professionally, Dr. Pullen holds memberships in the American Optometric Association, The Florida Optometric Association and is the past President of the NE Florida Optometric Society. He serves as a consultant to numerous industry corporations specializing in office efficiency and new product development. He is a nationally recognized speaker on topics such as LEAN office flow and effective staff utlization. He has also served as an instructor at the Johnson and Johnson Vision Care Institute teaching 3rd/4th year optometry students proper contact lens fitting techniques. He is married with three children, enjoys the outdoors and great BBQ.


Dr. James Watts

Clinical Optometrist


Dr. James Watts completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee and earned his Doctorate Degree from the Southern College of Optometry. He has always taken an active interest in the community and professional affairs. Dr. Watts was awarded the honor of Florida's Optometrist of the year in 1995. Additionally, Dr. Watts has completed postgraduate training in helping partially sighted and serves as a consultant to the Division of Blind Sevices. His specialties include contact lenses and primary care optometry.


Dr. Brett O’Connor

Clinical Optometrist


A Jacksonville native, Dr. Brett O’Connor earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he graduated with highest honors with his Doctor of Optometry degree. As a student, Dr. O’Connor earned a number of recognitions including Outstanding Fourth Year Clinician and Who’s Who among optometry students. He also served as President of the Contact Lens Society and published original research for which he was awarded the Drs. Fred and Charlene Burnett Student Research Award. Dr. O’Connor is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Florida Optometric Association. His clinical interests include primary care optometry, fitting contact lenses, and treatment of ocular diseases. In his free time Dr. O’Connor enjoys being outdoors with his wife and German shepherd.
